Dear Community Members,
Asalaamalaikum! We are introducing a newsletter to keep you informed about events and opportunities at Al Madany. Check your in-box weekly; we encourage you and your family to participate and volunteer to be part of our center activities and programs. Jazāk Allāhu Khayran!
Friday Khutbah (Jummah starts 1PM)
This week Sheikh Mohammad Al Masri will talk about “Islam and Science” during his Friday Khutbah. Hear how Allah’s exhortation in Surah Al-Rahman (The Beneficient), verse 33: “. . . o jinn and mankind, if you are able to pass beyond the regions of the heavens and the earth, then pass. . . ” encourages His worshipers to find the power which can make them go beyond the sky, with Allah’s permission! This has been the impetus, over millennia, for Muslim scholars to serve humanity through their contributions in science.
Our weekly Tafseer sessions are Friday evenings between Maghrib and Isha prayers. This week we will be covering Surah 54 Al-Qamar (The Moon), verses 23 through 55.
Al-Madany Sunday School started their school year with a meet and greet on September 23rd where parents and students had an opportunity to meet their teachers. Parents also received their children’s curriculum, schedule and other general information.
The official first day of classes will be September 30th. First period class starts promptly at 10:30 a.m.. Dismissal is at 1:45 p.m..
